The height to the writing surface is 28 inches. This gorgeous oak bureau/bookcase was purchased in England. Great condition for its age which we believe to be from the mid 1920's. It stands on sturdy legs & has 2 large, roomy drawers. Brass pulls. The glass above is leaded with a diamond accent piece on either side. There are 3 shelves for book storage or your precious collectables. Lockable doors & we do have the key. The inside cubbies do not appear to be original although they are still useable & could possibly be stained to match the outer. Leather writing surface with marks commensurate with use.
