This is the stock RAM that came with a MacBook Pro This memory upgrade (200-pin SODIMM, DDR2 PC2-5300) is compatible with all Mac Book and Mac Book Pro laptops starting at 1.83Ghz and up to 2.6Ghz also recent iMacs and Mac minis. I upgraded to 4GB since I'm running OS-X and Windows together in parallel. Unless you're going to do that - 2GB is more than enough for you. I recommend getting this RAM - since it is apple certified (hence would not void your warranty - even if you install yourself) and because it is a matched pair - which gives you dual-channeling (known to improve performance 6~8 percent over using non matched pairs) Item will be shipped in the packaging of my new memory, protected from the environment and static.
