Very Rare, Elgin Bicycle Fork

This is a very rare, Elgin (I think) fork with a really cool lower fork brace plate that was tack welded to the fork. The tack has broken but it is easely repairable. I do not have any struts to fit it. The fork is for 26 inch wheels and the steer tube is 6 1/2 inches long and it has 1 inch of standard headset threading.I do not think it has ever been installed but I would not call it new old stock. There is a nice even patina but no pitting or heavy rust. This is from a huge lot of stuff that was locked up in 1949 and remained untouched till I purchased it a few years ago.
