International Harvester : Scout
I bought this 1972 Scout II in 1998. At that time it was the original "gold" color from the factory. It had 83,000+ original miles on it. It now has has 153,000+ miles. It was purchased from the second owner owner who informed me the original owner had mainly towed it on the back of his motor home, while on vacation. The second owner told me he had put 20 to 25 thousand miles on it himself. Originally it was a 2 wheel drive, the second owner installed a 1974 front differential with disc brakes and just drove and camped in it.In 1999 I totally stripped it inside and out, and had it painted silver. It had the rocker panels replaced, flushed the motor, transmission, gear boxes, differential, replaced gaskets,refurbished gauges, rebuilt the oil pump, some body work, all new carpet kit,new rubber on doors and tail gate, replaced bulbs etc. The transmission, 727 automatic chrysler-turbo was rebuilt on 2000.
