2002 Kawasaki KX125 engine kx 125 motor 2001

Up for auction is an engine out of a 2002 Kawasaki kx125. This engine does not run. My nephew sent me this engine to rebuild for him but, I bought a used engine for him instead. I was going to rebuild this one at a later date and decided to sell it for parts instead. He barely rides so there really is no use for a spare engine laying around. I pulled the topend off and it looks like something let go in the bottom end. There were some metal pieces loose under the piston. They looked like brass or copper. The cases are all intact no visible holes from the outside. It shifts through all the gears. The cylinder and head look to be salvageable. The head only has a couple small marks in it, and the cylinder would need a bore and plating to get rid of a couple deeper score marks. I'm not a mechanic but have rebuilt engines before. Best case scenario, the engine needs a bottom end and top end complete rebuild. I cant be sure without splitting the cases.
