Phonograph or radio horn enclosure
I've been told that this is a "Horn Reproducer" from a 1920's style battery radio or phonograph (Atwater Kent, RCA, Deforest, Victor); it doesn't have a brand name on it. It is the horn and base only - there is no driver in the base. The base is cast iron and the horn is stained/varnished wood. The underside of the iron base has a cast iron plate marked "16271" ; the top has a "3" stamped into the metal. It's in very good condition (some scrapes and scratches) for its age.
