Vintage 1935 LITTLE BOY HOLD BIRTHDAY CAKE in LAP Photo

It is the overexposed background which has actually resulted in greater contrast with the whiteness of the cake, making it standout even more.  How often would you see a kid sitting like this with the entire cake in his lap?  Few parents would be so trusting.  The cake reads, "Happy Birthday," and there is German writing on the verso, indicating that there were possibly immigrants to the United States.  Cake photos are common, and usually not all that interesting, but that is precisely why this one stands in such excellent contrast and what puts it beyond the subject content.It is in excellent condition with a small corner bend and a minor handling bend at the bottom left corner.
