Scarce Large Vintage Finnish Horsehead Puukko Knife!!
Offered for your consideration is a very large example of a traditional Finnish horsehead Puukko knife. This design is thought to have been created by Juho Kustaa. The first horsehead pommel was said to have been cast for a cavalry officer in Juho's unit. Juho's father was one of the earliest of the Kauhava makers and Juho worked closely with Iiisakki Jarvenpaa, one of Finland's most famous (and prolific) makers. The design has been very popular ever since and was made by many different makers.
