Vintage Ladies Hat Black w/lovely Pink Taffeta Rose
The epitome of Vintage Chic. The little black hat to go with your little black dress. And, Just the thing for the ladies lunch or a day at the races. Subtle and not grand---as it should be. The 'crinoline" of the hat is bound at the edge in velvet and with a horsehair (?)trim at the rim of the outside of the hat. A black taffeta ribbon around the crown and pink rose and rosebud with leaves in a bed of ruched black taffetta; a grosgrain ribbon is on the inside of the hat at the crown. This proably dates to about the late 40's or early 50's and is in good shape overall. Some fraying edges at the pink roses and at the inside edge of the horsehair there is some raised stitching.
